How to play

Connections is the daily word-grouping puzzle that took over the internet. You get a 4×4 grid of 16 words; your job is to split them into four hidden themed groups of four. Each group is color-coded by difficulty — yellow (easy), green (medium), blue (hard), and purple (hardest — usually wordplay, puns, or words that all contain a hidden string). You have four mistakes total. The traps are deliberate: many words plausibly fit more than one group, and the easier groups become obvious only once the trickier ones are solved. Wuti Zone ships a deterministic daily puzzle (same puzzle worldwide each day), a streak tracker, share grid, and a free-play random mode.

Rules

• 16 words appear in a 4×4 grid; your goal is to split them into 4 themed groups of 4.
• Tap up to 4 words then press Submit to guess. Selected words highlight; submit is disabled until you pick exactly 4.
• If your 4 words are a real group, the row locks at the top with its color and the words leave the board.
• Group colors signal difficulty: yellow = easy, green = medium, blue = hard, purple = hardest (often wordplay).
• If you guess 3 of 4 words from a real group, the game flashes 'One away!' — but you still lose the attempt.
• Four mistakes ends the game; the remaining groups are revealed.
• A new daily puzzle drops at UTC midnight every day — the same puzzle for everyone worldwide.

Strategy tips

• Solve the trickiest-looking group first. The yellow (easy) group often contains traps planted there by harder categories — locking the purple or blue early prevents misfires.
• Watch for words that fit two themes (e.g. 'ORANGE' could be a color or a citrus fruit). Hold off until other groups thin the candidate pool.
• The purple group is almost always wordplay: fill-in-the-blank ('___ FISH'), hidden words, homophones, anagrams. Read the 16 words aloud — patterns jump out.
• Use Shuffle when you're stuck — rearranging the board breaks visual associations and surfaces new pairings.
• Don't burn mistakes on a 'feel' guess. If you can't justify all 4 picks, Deselect All and walk through each remaining word's possible homes.

When does the new puzzle come out?

A new daily puzzle drops at UTC midnight every day. Everyone in the world plays the same puzzle that day.

Does my streak save?

Yes. Current streak and best streak are stored in your browser's localStorage. Today's in-progress board also persists if you close the tab.

Can I play unlimited puzzles?

Use the New Random button to play extra puzzles drawn from the same curated pool. Random puzzles do not count toward your daily streak.
